The time has finally arrived for Geneva and the Golden Tornadoes to begin active play in NCAA Division III and the Presidents’ Athletic Conference. The athletic season kicks off this week with each of Geneva’s fall athletic teams beginning the 2011 season. The women’s tennis team will have the distinction of playing the first official contest against a PAC foe as they host Saint Vincent on Friday afternoon.

Following is the complete athletic schedule for the week of August 29:

Thurs., Sept. 1  Cross Country 5K at Brush Creek Park 5 p.m. 
  Women’s Soccer vs Penn State Beaver 7 p.m. 
Fri., Sept. 2   Tennis vs Saint Vincent  3:30 p.m. 
  Volleyball at Mt. Union Tournament: 
vs Allegheny 4 p.m.
vs St. Mary’s 6 p.m.
  Men’s Soccer at Carnegie Mellon 7:30 p.m. 
Sat., Sept. 3   Volleyball at Mt. Union Tournament: 
vs Hope 10 a.m.
vs Case Western 2 p.m.
  Tennis at Cedarville 1 p.m. 
  Women’s Soccer at Pitt-Bradford 1 p.m. 
  Men’s Soccer at Otterbein 5 p.m. 
  Football vs Frostburg State 7 p.m. 
*A reminder that all home events will be available to view via the internet with Geneva’s new live streaming capabilities. Through a partnership with Tourbeau Sports Group, Geneva home events can be viewed live by simply clicking the link provided on the athletic web page. So you can watch the Geneva women’s soccer match against Penn State Beaver on Thursday and the football opener against Frostburg State on Saturday night.
