INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

The field of international business is rapidly expanding through interconnected economies, advanced communication technologies and improving modes of transportation. This global and culturally diverse business environment has created a need for qualified, ethical professionals who understand and can operate in a world marketplace.

Geneva College’s international business concentration is designed for students interested in obtaining employment within the global business market, applying a Christian viewpoint to their field. Students at Geneva earn a quality business administration degree that provides extensive study-abroad experience, with opportunities in Asia, Europe and South America.

In addition to the numerous study-abroad opportunities available through Crossroads: Geneva’s Center for Off-Campus Study, alternating China Experience and Argentina & Brazil Experience courses are offered through the Business Department every other year, which means that a four-year student is able to pursue business-focused study in both of these economically important areas of the world.

Career opportunities in international business include:

  • economic development banking
  • country risk assessment
  • foreign exchange analysis
  • export/import banking
  • multinational finance
  • overseas management
  • development economics

In addition to Geneva and business core courses, students in the international business concentration take the following:

  • International Business (BUS 314)
  • Comparative Economic Systems (ECO 327
  • International Marketing & Export Management (BUS 424)
  • International Finance (BUS)
  • Elective: Intercultural Communications (COM 225), Elementary Spanish I (SPA 101), Foreign Language and Culture I (FLC 101) or Politics of Global Economics (POL 341)
