Bench voting
Voting began at Homecoming in October to determine which of three different bench styles the college would use in redecorating campus following the relocation of Route 18. Each style used a different material: metal, wood, and stone. Two months and 218 votes later, the metal bench won with 118 votes. The wooden benches came in second place with 77 votes. The stone benches proved least popular, receiving only 23 votes. As part of the Beyond the Bend project, the college plans to create several “gathering nodes,” areas for students, visitors, and alumni to gather and talk. The benches will be placed in these areas and elsewhere around campus. Geneva will offer donors opportunities to dedicate a bench or a gathering node to memorialize or honor a loved one. |

College alumni, students, and visitors are helping Geneva decide what the campus will look like after Route 18 is relocated.
