Humanities Teaching Assistant

Primary purpose of position: Providing teaching and grading assistance to Humanities Instructors.

Duties and responsibilities: Tracking student attendance, grading, assisting in discussion sections, substituting for instructors in discussions if needed, leading review sessions.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required: Humanities course content knowledge. Ability to lead discussions in instructors' absence.

Educational requirements and/or experience: Must have completed the Humanities sequence (103, 203, 303) with no lower than a B in any of these courses. Overall college average of a B or better.

Additional information: Applications may be obtained in the Humanities Office in Fern Cliffe. Students will be required to submit 2 letters of recommendation: 1 student and 1 faculty.

Duties and responsibilities: prepare music for private lessons so lesson time can progress effectively

Knowledge, skills and abilities required: student must have strong piano skills and experience as an accompanist is very helpful

Dare2XL After-School Program Learning Assistant

Work Hours/Schedule: 8 hours/week: Afternoon hours flexible with your schedule

Primary purpose of position: Work study students will be assisting teachers' implementation of the DARE2XL after-school program rules and guidelines.

Duties and responsibilities:
*Greet student as they arrive to the program
*Assist students in completing program forms such as warm-up and kool-down
*Assist the teachers during snack time. Help pass out snacks and clean up
*Assist teachers with motivation. This includes but is not limited to leading motivational pledges
*Monitor and tutor students in completing and reviewing their homework
*Complete and check all required forms (warm-ups, kool-downs, daily reports)
*Report all discipline problems to the teachers
*Help maintain a positive, fun and safe environment for the students
*All other duties asked of Dare2XL staff

Knowledge, skills and abilities required: 
*A desire to interact with children or youth in a task directed manner
*Flexibility
*Responsible and self-motivated 

Educational requirements and/or experience:
*Experience with children or youth preferred
*Background in education, youth ministry, or camp beneficial

Additional information:
*This position is located off-campus and transportation is not provided
*Students are required to attend an orientation and training session at the start of each semester
