Helpful Tips

Telephone Services:

With prior arrangements, Conference Services will provide each resident's room with a telephone and voicemail.

  • Phone Locations: Residence Halls
    • McKee and Memorial: On the wall at the front entrance
    • Pearce and Clarke: In the lounge of each building
    • Apartments: In the lounge or in one designated apartment
  • Phone locations: Payphones
    • Alexander Hall: Near the Women's restroom on the top floor
    • Student Center: Lower level
  • To get an outside line, dial "9" first
    • If you are calling within the "724" area code, dial only "9" and the 7-digit phone number. For example 9-1-800-222-2222.

To make long distance telephone calls, a phone card is needed. Some "724" calls are also considered long distance and will require a phone card.

ID Cards:

  • Used for:
    • Entrance into residence halls - Slide card with black stripe down through the scanner located next to each entrance.
    • Meals - Hand card to Cafeteria staff member as you enter the dining hall.
  • $10 fee for any lost ID cards
  • $2 fee for damaged ID card.

Room Codes: The room code given at resistration opens the door to your room.

    • Numbers should be pushed in sequence
    • A slash between two numbers means that they should be pushed at the same time.
    • If the code doesn't work, turn the doorknob to "clear" the lock and try again. Pushing the numbers slowly may help.

Street Sweeping: To avoid tickets, all cars parked on College Avenue be moved by midnight on Wednesday.
