Civil Rights Bus Tour - Network Exchange

crbt_home.jpg

This bus-tour educational experience provides a first-hand journey to where the civil rights movement took place and explores the influence of Christianity in the movement.

Created and refined by Geneva Professor Todd Allen, the Returning to the Roots of Civil Rights tour began with a small tour in 2002 with 13 participants. Since the inaugural tour, the program has continued to grow and now has more than 300 participants. Travel takes place during June over eight days and covers over 2,600 miles. Previous tour participants come from a wide array of ethnic, professional and geographic backgrounds.

lf_logo.gifThrough the Network Exchange Program (NEP), Geneva College shares this unique educational program that looks deeply at our faith and culture. Participants in the NEP will spend three days at Geneva College’s campus located in Beaver Falls, Pa. in deep study and reflection of the Geneva program so that they may be equipped to implement a similar program at their own institutions. At the conclusion of the Network Exchange, program participants will be offered the opportunity to experience the bus tour as a participant.

Mission Statement
The Lilly Fellows Program in Humanities and the Arts seeks to renew and enhance the connections between Christianity and the academic vocation at church-related colleges and universities.
