Lorrie_Meneeley.jpgWhile attending Geneva, Lorrie J. (Reyle ’80) Meneely served on her dorm council and participated in the Accounting Club. She graduated with degrees in management science and accounting and earned an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh in 1986.

Her service continued after graduation, as Lorrie dedicated herself to using her financial talents to benefit many organizations.

Lorrie has served on the board of the Reformed Presbyterian Woman’s Association as treasurer and finance and personnel committee chair. Since 1997 Lorrie has been the association’s assistant executive director.

Lorrie also serves on the Trinity Christian School board of directors, including terms as treasurer and personnel committee chair. Lorrie has served as chair of the stewardship committee and member of the building and loan committee of the trustees of synod of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America.

Lorrie also enjoys quilting, knitting, and watching baseball. She and her husband, Timothy Meneely ’80, have three children, Jenna, Joshua, and Jordan. The Meneelys reside in Pittsburgh.


Jeff_Mathews.jpgJeff Mathews ’80 graduated from Geneva College with a degree in industrial engineering and a letter from the golf team. Today he is a mentor to underprivileged

children and adviser to Junior Achievement. He is

also involved in the Charlotte Rescue Mission and is an active member of St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church.

Jeff has worked as an industrial engineer at DuPont in Virginia and at Reynolds Metal in Michigan, and he has worked as engineering manager at Panasonic in North Carolina. While working as a production management specialist for General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas, Jeff designed and followed through to completion a manufacturing facility for F-16 aft fuselage coproduction in Tanagra, Greece. He now owns and operates a woodworking business in Mooresville, North Carolina, which grew out of his 30-year interest in carpentry.

Jeff has served on the organizing committees for two new Greek Orthodox churches in North Carolina and for several Greek Orthodox parish councils.

Jeff’s interests include art, woodworking, and auto mechanics. He also enjoys gardening, cycling, boating, and spending time with his wife, Dimi.


JoelAdams.jpgDr. Joel C. Adams ’80 grew up in western Pennsylvania, graduated from Blackhawk High School with honors, and attended Geneva College, where he played varsity football, served as student body president, and earned degrees in psychology and computer science. Joel taught science at Beaver County Christian School for three years, then earned his master’s degree and doctorate in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh.

Since 1989 Joel has taught computer science at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was the first chair of Calvin’s computer science department. Joel has been a Fulbright Senior Scholar in both Mauritius and Iceland.

In addition, Joel has transformed technological education by writing textbooks, developing computer systems, directing summer computer camps for middle school students, and studying and writing about the Christian principles at work in computer science. He was co-founder of Project Connect, an ongoing outreach program from Calvin College’s computer science department to several Grand Rapids low-income neighborhoods.

Joel is active in Sherman Street Christian Reformed Church. He and his wife, Barbara, have two sons, Ian and Roy.
