Dr. Scott Shidemantle is a biblical scholar, theologian and teacher with a focused interest in the area of the New Testament’s Johannine Literature—Gospel of John, Letters of John, and John’s Revelation. He is an ordained Ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). He and his wife, Wendy, have two sons, John and Luke.

  • I am preparing to take a group of students, alumni and friends of the college to Israel on a study trip from December 27, 2013 to January 9, 2014.
  • I am working on two book reviews to be published in an upcoming edition of the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society:  a book review of Dale Bruner's The Gospel of John and a book review on Andreas Koestenberger's/Richard Patterson's book An Invitation to Biblical Interpretation: Exploring the Hermeneutical Triad of History, Literature, and Theology.
