Another coach working his way up in the program is Tom Contenta. Beginning his coaching career on College Hill in 2007, the former Geneva standout is now one of only three full time assistants on the staff. Along with Mike Pinchotti and Jason Wargo, Contenta has taken on a much more active role in recruiting in the last three years.
Contenta will be in charge of the defensive backs again in 2012, which makes perfect sense after he enjoyed a stellar career in the Geneva secondary. A four year letter winner, All-Conference and NCCAA All-American, Contenta patrolled the defensive back field at Geneva from 2002-2005.
Upon his graduation from Geneva, Contenta began his coaching career at his high school alma mater, New Brighton, in 2006.
Contenta graduated from Geneva College with a degree in Youth Ministry and still remains very active in the “Emerge Young Adults” youth ministry program at New Brighton Christian Assembly.
Contenta and his wife Chelsea reside in Beaver Falls.
