Tom Contenta - Assistant Football Coach

Beginning his coaching career on College Hill in 2007, the former Geneva standout has quickly climbed his way up the coaching ladder and become one of DeMarco’s top assistants. Contenta is entering his seventh year as defensive backs coach and is an integral part of the defensive play calling.

As one of Geneva’s most competitive players on a defense that led the team to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national championship series, Contenta has become one of the most relentless recruiters in the region. As Recruiting Coordinator, Tom has taken the Golden Tornado marketing strategy to a new level, bringing in the two largest recruiting classes in program history.  His example of work ethic is classic and his passion for Geneva College is unsurpassed. Along with his football duties, Coach Contenta is also an instructor in the physical education department at Geneva.

From 2002-2005 Contenta roamed the Geneva secondary as a defensive back. His stellar career was capped by earning four letters, All-Conference, and NCCAA All-American honors.

Contenta graduated from Geneva College with a Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry in 2006. After graduation Contenta began his coaching career at his high school alma mater, New Brighton, in 2006.

Tommy and his wife Chelsea reside in New Brighton with their new born, Ethan.
