Alumni visit Football Hall of Fame

hof_logo.jpgGeneva alumni geared up for the Super Bowl by visiting the Football Hall of Fame on February 4.

More than 20 alumni traveled by bus to Canton, Ohio, to visit the hall, which features exhibits, a photo gallery, mementos and an interactive display featuring Hall of Fame Teletrivia and Q-1 Call-the-Play Theater.

One stop on the Hall of Fame tour was a film about the Steelers.

“The trip was especially exciting because the Steelers were going to be in the Super Bowl that very next day,” said Dan Meyer, assistant alumni relations director.

“It was a very appropriate trip,” said Norma Lagios, special events director. “Everyone was wearing black and gold and on the way we watched Steelers highlights.”

Coach Gene Sullivan, Geneva’s own football authority, helped coordinate the trip.

On the ride down alumni played “Stump Coach Gene,” trying to think up sports trivia to baffle the college’s former head coach.

“It’s was a wonderful trip. Seeing the football history of Geneva's own Cal Hubbard ('27) made the visit even more meaningful,” said Meyer.
