Freshman Expedition

The Pisgah Program offers three Freshman Expedition trips: Trek, Challenge and Paddle. Each trip is an outdoor experience designed to help incoming first-year Geneva students transition into college life and grow in their relationship with the Lord. Although it is not a requirement for students to attend these trips, they provide great opportunities to grow, develop relationships and jumpstart the college experience.
What to expect
You will have the opportunity to experience backcountry cooking, camping, group activities, new friendships, conversations and reflection times, all with the intent of personal, social, spiritual and academic development.
If you are interested in going on one of these trips please register online by clicking the link below. We will also be on campus during Summer Preview days handing out brochures and registration forms. We would love to talk with you and answer any questions you have during this time.

Online registration is now closed for summer 2011 freshman expedition events. If you have any questions, please contact the Pisgah Program at 724-847-5223. |

What students have to say about Freshman Expedition…
The trip made me think a lot about my identity in Christ, as well as my priorities. I learned a lot about my capabilities and how to relate to others. I will be starting my classes with more confidence and determination and less anxiety.
It was a blast! The combination of physical and mental challenges, with teamwork and stuff, was highly enjoyable. I loved every minute.
I think I found that I'm often capable of more that I think, and that I jut need to rise to meet the challenge. I am going to be much more aware of my attitudes and will also be more confident in my transition.
I was really scared to go on the trip because I had never been hard-core camping before but the instructors were great. In the end it was facing my fears that made the trip so great.
I LOVED being surrounded by creation – the stars, the clouds the trees…I felt like God had put everything there just for my enjoyment.
