JIM ANDREWS

Hometown: Phoenix, AZ

Home Church: First Southern Baptist of Overgaard, Arizona

Education: BA in Economics – Geneva College, 1976; MBA – Arizona State University, 2000

Current Employer/Position: Self Employed – Financial Planner

Interests: Walking & playing with my two Yorkie dogs and wife of 30 years

Why join GAA? Riding cross country is something I have wanted to do for about 20 years and felt riding for and with Geneva College was a great opportunity

BECKY CASE

Hometown: Beaver Falls, PA

Home Church: First Presbyterian Church; Beaver, PA

Education: BA Youth Ministries – Moody Bible Institute; MA Higher Education – Geneva College

Current Employer/Position: Geneva College & Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO), Director of the Pisgah Program – Geneva’s adventure education program

Interests: A good story in any form (books, Broadway musicals, movies, etc.), hiking, climbing, running, hot drinks, and Downtown Abbey.

Why join GAA? Why not? It sounds like an epic journey with a community of people who will be adventuring together.  I’m excited to enjoy God’s big world with others. I anticipate the work He will continue to do in my life through this journey and the work He will do in the lives of future students through the privilege they will have of getting a Christian education.

 

BOB COLLINS

Hometown: Dayton, OH

Home Church: SouthBrook Christian Church; Miamisburg, OH

Education: BA – Geneva College; Studied for MBA – Case Western Reserve

Current Employer/Position: Retired March 2012; prior employee of Edward Jones Investments

Interests: Travel, running, reading – nonfiction, gardening, and mission work in Guatemala

Why join GAA? I was a first generation college student that could not afford to go to college and was required to live at home and combine work with college to earn a degree.  Riding across America seems like an exciting way to assist Geneva in helping other young people achieve their dreams.

CHRISTY COULTER

Hometown: Beaver Falls, PA

Home Church: Soma Gathering; Beaver Falls, PA

Education: BA Psychology and Communication – Bethel University, 2008; MA Higher Education – Geneva College, 2012

Current Employer/Position: Geneva College, Director of Academic Counseling Center and Educational Support Services

Interests: Hiking, biking, coffee, laughing, traveling, warm brownies & ice cream, exploring new cities, sharing in good conversations, and reading

Why join GAA? I have fallen in love with the work Geneva College does to educate students and desire to find ways to minimize the cost of a college education for these students.  I also love seeing God’s creation while cycling. There is no better way to merge all these loves than the context that GAA is offering!

 

LINDA GARDNER

Hometown: Ellwood City, PA

Education: BA Education – Penn State University, 1967; Graduate courses – Westminster College, 1968; BS Graphic Design – LaRoche College, 1995

Current Employer/Position: Retired

Interests: family (especially my 26 grandchildren), Bible study, cardmaking, sewing, reading, and word games

Why join GAA? I’ve wanted to see our beautiful country by bicycle for many, many years! I would love to share that adventure with a like-minded group of Christians from Geneva College.  Five of our children graduated from Geneva, as did my husband, his siblings and their parents, so I am happy to be a part of supporting the college and raising student scholarship funds.

Education: BS Civil Engineering, Northeastern University1966; MS Civil Engineering, Northeastern University, 1971

Current Employer/Position: Chapin Associates, Inc. Consulting Engineers

Interests: Ice hockey, the ocean, kayaking, and reading

Why join GAA? I’m fulfilling every bicyclist’s “dream” bike trip while benefiting a worthy cause.

Current Employer/Position: Geneva College, Dean of Student Development

Interests: Hobby farmer, gardening, camping, backpacking, and cycling

Why join GAA? This is an epic adventure that I have dreamed about for 20 years, now is the time; and this is a great opportunity to help future Geneva students realize their dream of Christian higher education.

FIONA SMITH

Home Church: College Hill Reformed Presbyterian Church, Beaver Falls, PA

Education: Philosophy & Adventure Education – Geneva College, 2013

Current Employer/Position: Geneva College, Residence Life

Interests: Rock climbing, back packing, finishing college, and sleeping.

Why join GAA? I love biking, traveling to new places, and Geneva College and am thrilled for this opportunity to combine all three.

 

LAURA ZERBE

Hometown: Leesburg, VA

Education: BA Communication Disorders – Geneva College, 2011; MS Communication Sciences and Disorders – Longwood University, 2013

Current Employer/Position: Health South Rehabilitation Hospital of Richmond, VA to complete master’s degree

Interests: White water rafting/kayaking, speech-language pathology (voice and swallowing disorders), American pop culture, dog training, volleyball, travel, jazz music, deaf culture, organic cooking, stand-up comedy, and the occasional book
