Clarke Hall is a three-floor female residence hall for freshmen. Located just one block from Alexander Dining Hall and next door to the sand volleyball court, Clarke is in the center of campus life. Each room houses two students and each floor is equipped with two common bathrooms. Wireless Internet access is available as well as e-mail terminals, a fully-equipped kitchen and two lounges.
Because Clarke is a freshmen residence hall, floor activities are designed to help new students adjust to college life and hit the ground running. Clarke is overseen by a resident director (RA) and a staff of student resident assistants (RAs) who are equipped to support and encourage students, as well as address any issues that might arise in a community living environment. There are two RAs living on each floor of Clarke. Clarke is also staffed with a discipleship coordinator (DC) and a health coordinator (HC).
A favorite Clarke tradition is Winter Wonderland, in which residents compete in a floor-decorating contest to make the residence hall more festive for the Christmas season. Other hall activities vary from year to year and include everything from bus trips to Applebee’s to camping trips to making cards for soldiers overseas.
