Alumni Band Information

Re-live the past! March on the turf!  See the friends you have not talked with in so long!  The date for the Homecoming game this year is October 20. Register online by Oct. 5 to be included. Even if you cannot make it back this year, please fill out the registration form with your name and address to keep the files up to date. The tentative schedule is: 10:15 a.m.  Registration begins at Johnston Gym - seating, horns, music, etc. 11 a.m.  Begin rehearsal (band front with our officers) 12:30 p.m.  Explain field entrance and exit for half-time at Reeve's field 1:15 p.m.  Return equipment and materials to band room 1:30 p.m.  Dinner together with the current band members and your family at Alex's. (first 2 meals free - $5/meal if more than 2 are needed) 2:45 p.m.  Move to Steps of Old Main for Alumni Band photo 3 p.m. Group Alumni Band picture 3:20 p.m.  Move to stadium seats for pre-game (seating next to Geneva Band) 3:30 p.m.  Pre-game activities (Queen & King crowned) 4 p.m.  Kick-off (Alumni Band will perform at half-time)  You have a place to mark on the registration form if you will need an instrument. We will work to borrow any instuments need from local schools or some of our alumni band directors. It would help us greatly if you would try to find instruments available in your area first! We are expecting a large number of wind & percussion in the band this fall and our equipment will be limited. Also, if you are able to provide an extra instrument, please let us know on the registration form. (Remember: do not let the years of time since you may have played or performed discourage you from coming. There will be plenty of support around you and the real goal is to have a great time and take home a few new and fun memories.) The official dress will be white shirts, sweaters, or jackets, and dark slacks or dark jeans.
