Beaver Falls, PA – Geneva’s only scheduled home cross country meet of the season, which was scheduled for October 7th, has been postponed. Because of scheduling changes to a few local meets, several of the teams that had reserved spots for the Geneva meet have since backed out. In fact, it was only LaRoche College that still had intentions of competing at the meet.
As a result of those changes, Geneva has decided to cancel its home meet and look elsewhere for a meet to attend on the road.
“It is unfortunate that we will not be able to compete on our home course,” said Otte. “We just want the best possible competition each and every week and with just one school to compete against, it would not be the best scenario for our team. Hopefully, we will be able to hook onto another meet that will better prepare us for the difficult championship meets that will be coming up soon.”
Geneva’s cross country teams are each coming off victories at the St. Vincent College Invitational last weekend. The Golden Tornadoes will be off this weekend and will then hopefully find a meet to compete in on October 7th.
Geneva will be competing in both the PAC Championships at Waynsburg College and the American Mideast Conference championships at Tiffin University.
Geneva is one of only 118 colleges in the U.S. to be approved for membership in the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU), and is a founding member.
