Montour, PA – On what was a scheduled off day for most of Geneva’s cross country day, junior Beth Bartolomeo (Monroeville, PA) had anything but an off day. Bartolomeo competed at the IKEA Montour marathon and came away with quite an impressive performance.
Finishing the half marathon (13.1 miles) in a time of 1 hour and 29 minutes, Bartolomeo was good enough to qualify for the NAIA national track and field meet next spring in the marathon event.
Bartolomeo will be the third Geneva qualifier for next spring’s event in Fresno, CA with Andrew Foxenberg and Dee Koutsourais automatic qualifiers from last year’s event.
Geneva’s cross country teams will continue their season next Saturday with a meet at Waynesburg College.
The pass rate for Geneva graduates in the special education certification (Praxis II) is 100%.
