Deamen ends Geneva play-off hopes

Beaver Falls, PA – Geneva’s season basically came down to one match on Saturday afternoon for a hope of gaining a play-off berth. Unfortunately for the Golden Tornadoes, the offense continue to find a groove and Geneva dropped a 3-0 decision to Daemen College. Geneva, which entered the game in fifth place in the AMC North, needed to win its final two conference matches to make the play-offs, was officially eliminated from play-off contention with the loss. The seventh consecutive loss dropped Geneva to 4-11-0 overall, including a 2-4-0 record in the conference.

oth teams played evenly in the first half, however, it was Daemen who got the only goal in the eighth minute. Geneva could not capitalize on a number of first half opportunities. Daemen put up 11 shots in the match, while Geneva fired ten.

Daemen extended its lead with a goal in the 78th minute and another just one minute later.

Geneva will be back at Merriman Athletic Complex on Wednesday to host Tiffin the home finale. The Golden Tornadoes will then travel to Carlow and Myers to close out the regular season.
