Volleyball honors roll in, Seldomridge tabbed libero of the week

Beaver Falls, PA – Geneva has been playing its most effective volleyball of the season in the last two weeks. Contributions from just about everyone on the roster have helped the Golden Tornadoes catapult to second place in the AMC North. As a result of its recent success, Geneva was honored with some individual awards this week. Senior libero Allison Seldomridge (Landisville, PA) was named the American Mideast Conference libero of the week. Seldomridge helped Geneva to a pair of AMC North victories, including an upset of first place Notre Dame College.

Seldomridge averaged 7.2 digs per game while handling 96 of 98 passes for a .980 accuracy.

It has not only been Seldomridge’s play that has helped Geneva’s turnaround. On Wednesday, the NCCAA announced its All-East Regional team. Senior outside hitter Marisa Barickman (Guys Mills, PA) was named to the first team, while Seldomridge, Caryn Azure (Butler, PA) and Megan Summers (Richardson, TX) were all second team selections.

The Golden Tornadoes have just three AMC North matches remaining and still hold an outside chance of capturing their first ever divisional title. Currently tied with Roberts Wesleyan for second place, both teams are just one game behind Notre Dame College.
