Bear shatters school record

wtf.jpgIndiana, PA – The usual suspects for the Geneva track and field teams once again shined at the Western Pennsylvania Championships at IUP on Saturday. Tiffany Bear shattered Geneva’s school record in the javelin as she took home a first place trophy for the second time in as many weeks. Also in women’s action, Dee Koutsourais finished second in the 10000 meter event and improved on her NAIA qualifying time with a 38.10 mark. In the men’s 10000 meter race, Andrew Foxenberg also finished second overall with a school record time of 31.58.

Geneva’s women also brought back the gold in the 4 x 800 relay. Geneva teammates Susan Fletcher, Marsha Miller, Laura Seyler and Rebecca VanRegenmorter beat the championship field for a first place finish.

In team scoring, Geneva’s women place ninth out of 12 schools with 38 points, while the men’s team also was ninth overall with a total of 34 points. St. Francis, PA took home the overall championships on both the men’s and women’s side of the meet.
