GENEVA ENDS MT. UNION WEEKEND WINLESS
Beaver Falls, PA – Geneva’s women’s volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to start the season on Friday night at the Mt. Union College Tournament. On Saturday, the results didn’t change. Two matches, two losses for the Golden Tornadoes that have now started the new season with an overall record of 0-4.
On Saturday, Geneva started the day by dropping a 3-0 decision to Adrian College by scores of 30-27, 30-23, 30-20. Elizabeth Fisher led the offense with ten kills, while Adrian Blake added eight kills in the loss. Blair Bruce led the defense with 27 digs, while Brandi Snavely had 31 assists.
In the final match of the weekend, Geneva dropped a 3-1 match to Case Western by scores of 20-30, 30-25, 30-14, 30-27. Freshman Laura Zerbe was the shining star in the match with a hitting percentage of .321, which included a team best 13 kills. Snavely added 38 assists in the night cap to go along with three service aces.
Geneva will be back in tournament action next weekend when it travels to Hiram College on Friday and Saturday. The Golden Torandoes open their home schedule on September 10th against Point Park.
Among a recent sampling of chemistry graduates, 83% were able to work in an internship or research experience during college years, and 100% had employment in their field or were accepted into graduate school within three months of graduation.
