NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 5, 2007 PRESIDENTIAL LANDSLIDE, GENEVA CRUISES PAST W & J Washington, PA – Geneva’s tennis team had dropped back to back matches against PAC foes in the past 10 days. On Friday afternoon, the Golden Tornadoes turned the trick against Washington & Jefferson and cruised past the President’s by a shut-out score of 9-0. Geneva’s six singles matches and three doubles matches went off without much of a challenge and the Golden Tornadoes improved their overall record to 5-4 for 2007. Coming off convincing losses to both Saint Vincent and Grove City, Geneva was able to turn the tables and once again used effective play from its top three singles players in Beth Halama, Tess Roholt and Allison Krisza to take an early advantage that would never be lost. Geneva will finally get the chance to play a home match on Saturday afternoon as the Golden Tornadoes must make a quick recovery when they host Thomas More at Beaver Falls High School on Saturday. Geneva will host Waynesburg next Tuesday before closing out the regular season at Westminster next Wednesday afternoon. |
