BLAKE LEADS GENEVA TO 21ST VICTORY AT THIEL
Greenville, PA – Adriane Blake has certainly not played like a sophomore this season, but in just her second year with the Golden Tornadoes, she has continued to lead the way for a Geneva’s women’s volleyball team which is experiencing a very special season. On Thursday night, Blake was at it again as the Golden Tornadoes defeated Thiel 3-0 (26-25, 25-21, 26-24) to move to 21-7 on the season.
Although Geneva won the match in three straight games, it was certainly not that easy for the Golden Tornadoes. Geneva needed extra time in games one and three to secure the victory. In fact, Geneva was forced to come back for victories in each of the three games.
Adriane Blake led Geneva in kills for the 24th match in 28 starts on the season. Blake threw down 19 kills and added ten digs in the victory. Brandi Snavely, who remains among the leaders in the PAC in assists, added 35 for the Golden Tornadoes on Thursday night. Additional defense help came from Blair Bruce and Elizabeth Fisher who each added 12 digs.
The Golden Tornadoes will continue their busy week on Friday night when they travel to Westminster College. On Saturday, Geneva returns home to host Thomas More College at 6 pm.
For over 50 years, Geneva’s chemistry department has been approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS)—a distinction achieved by only six other colleges in the CCCU.
