ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE REWARDED FOR

QUINTET OF RUNNERS

Beaver Falls, PA – Geneva’s cross country season came to an end on Saturday at the NCCAA national meet at Cedarville University. Geneva’s women posted an 11th place overall finish in a field of 19 schools. Off the course, the Golden Tornadoes were honored with five student-athletes receiving NCCAA All-Scholar Athlete awards. On the women’s side, four student-athletes were honored. Senior Rebecca VanRegenmorter, who was Geneva’s top finisher at the national meet, received scholar-athlete honors, along with seniors Nicole Okerlund and Audrey Joseph. Junior Heather Austin was also honored by the NCCAA.

On the men’s side, Josh Falk and Josh Gunnett each competed at the NCCAA national meet and turned in a pair of top 35 finishes. Falk was Geneva’s top finisher in 22nd place and he was the lone male recipient of the scholar-athlete award. Falk, a senior from Clarinda, Ia, led the way for the men’s side.


 

Point of Excellence

Geneva graduates pass the test for teacher certification in elementary education (Praxis II) at over a 99% rate in the first attempt–one of the highest pass rates in Pennsylvania.
