Powerful Grove City Shuts Out Geneva in PAC Action

Beaver Falls PA – It was a difficult task for the Geneva College women’s tennis team on Monday as it hosted PAC powerhouse Grove City at Brady’s Run Park in PAC competition. The Golden Tornadoes were not able to take a set against the Wolverines in a 9-0 loss in the third PAC match of the season. Geneva fell to 2-4 on the young season only two days after posting a 1-2 record and a fourth place finish at the Penn State Behrend Invitational.

Geneva’s top doubles team comprised of Chelsea Cover and Kara Zimmerman gave the most promising effort of the match, but dropped an 8-4 decision in number one doubles action. Each of Geneva’s six singles matches only last two sets against a very strong Grove City team.

Geneva will get another PAC home test against Thomas More when it welcomes the Saints to Beaver Falls High School on Friday afternoon.
