Geneva Falls at Westminster

New Wilmington, PA – Geneva’s baseball team continued to look for answers on Wednesday in a 14-5 loss at Westminster. The loss was the 11th in 12 games for the Golden Tornadoes as they fell to 9-16 on the season.

The Golden Tornadoes opened the scoring with a run in the second inning on an RBI single from Herbie Pegg. The Titans quickly responded with four runs in the bottom of the frame to take a lead that Geneva would come back from in the fifth and sixth innings. The Golden Tornadoes posted back to back two run innings in the fifth and sixth to reclaim the lead 5-4. Noah Medich’s RBI single in the fifth highlighted the inning followed by Adam Scheiderer’s two-run single in the sixth to give Geneva the lead.

The final innings belonged to the Titans as they reclaimed the lead with two runs in the bottom of the sixth and tacked on four run frames in the seventh and eighth to put the game away. Mike Trn was handed the loss with six innings pitched and five earned runs with three strikeouts. Geneva’s offense accounted for nine hits including two each from Justin Acosta and Jon Bushmire.

Geneva will open a three-game series with Grove City on Friday with a single game scheduled for 33rd Street Field at 3 pm. The Golden Tornadoes will travel to Grove City for a doubleheader on Saturday.
