Geneva's Lorello Tabbed PAC Player of the Week

Beaver Falls, PA – For the second time this season, Geneva College junior forward Matt Lorello has been named Presidents’ Athletic Conference men’s basketball player of the week. Lorello and the Golden Tornadoes split a pair of conference games last week against Saint Vincent and W & J as Lorello was nearly unstoppable in the post. Currently leading the conference in field goal percentage, Lorello was 18-22 (82%) from the field in the two games as he averaged 20 points.

Lorello scored 21 points on 9-13 shooting in a loss to Saint Vincent last Wednesday. He added eight rebounds and four assists against the Bearcats. On Saturday afternoon, Lorello was a perfect 9-9 from the field with 19 points, five boards and four assists.

Lorello leads a 4-11 Geneva team and is third in the conference with his 16.1 points per game. While leading the league with a 63% mark from the field, he is also fifth in the PAC with 7.1 rebounds per contest.

Despite a 4-11 overall mark, Geneva takes its 3-4 conference record into New Wilmington tonight to face Westminster College. The Golden Tornadoes are currently tied with Grove City for fifth place in the conference.
