Beaver Falls, PA – The Geneva College women’s tennis team has been a pleasant surprise this fall. The Golden Tornadoes are 5-2 in conference action and one of the main reasons for the success has been the play of freshman Samantha Jensen. Jensen enjoyed a perfect week on the court as the Golden Tornadoes posted back to back 6-3 victories over Bethany and Waynesburg last week. For her efforts, Jensen was named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference player of the week.
Jensen posted a straight set victory in singles against Bethany early in the week before duplicating that effort on Saturday in a straight set win against Waynesburg. Alongside doubles partner Jen Bullock, Jensen won back to back doubles matches against the Bison and Yellow Jackets in impressive fashion. Jensen is 5-4 in singles action and 5-5 on the doubles court in 2012.
The Golden Tornadoes have just a couple weeks remaining on the regular season schedule before preparing for the PAC Championships on October 19-20.
