Colavecchia Honored With Conference Honors

Beaver Falls, PA – It was somewhat similar to a bull in a china shop when junior quarterback Rocco Colavecchia was toting the football late in Saturday’s game against Thomas More. At the end of regulation and during the four overtime sessions, Colavecchia would not be denied the end zone and scored four times to help lead Geneva to a stunning 50-48 victory over the four-time defending conference champions. For his efforts on Saturday, Colavecchia was named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference offensive player of the week.

Colavecchia scored four touchdowns in Geneva’s victory on Saturday including a pair of TD’s in the final two and half minutes of regulation to tie the game. He scored to the game again in the second overtime before finding the end zone for a fourth time to set up the game winning two-point conversion in the fourth OT.

Colavecchia finished the game with 61 rushing yards, 30 receiving yards and 14 yards through the air.
