Ireland Spring Break Trip 2012

Interested in traveling to Ireland? Then consider the 2012 Ireland Spring Break Trip. The trip is open for current students, as well as alumni and friends of Geneva. And students will also receive Humanities 203 or 304 credits. Current students will meet once a week in the spring semester to learn history of the country, allowing them to fully appreciate all the sites that will be visited on the trip, including Dublin, Waterford, Killarney and Galway, along with stops at castles, monasteries and beautiful natural locations. Alumni and friends attending the trip are also welcome to attend the class.
How do I apply for the trip?
Students:
Applications are available in Fern Cliffe. The deadline to apply is November 15, and the first deposit of $500 is due by late November.
Alumni & Friends:
The deadline for alumni and friends to apply and submit the $500 deposit is November 22. Participants must complete the Alum & Friends Info Sheet and the Alum & Friends Permission and Liability Waiver. These forms must then be submitted to Dr. Tom Copeland at tecopela@geneva.edu by November 22, with the deposit check of $500 made payable to Geneva College.
How much does the trip cost?
The cost of the trip is estimated at $2,300 per person. This includes airfare, entrance fees, some meals (breakfast mostly) and hotel accommodations (assuming double occupancy). Additional expenses include meals, souvenirs, incidentals and optional entrance fees.

Powerscourt House, Glendalough monastery, overnight in Waterford

Ormonde Castle, Rock of Cashel, overnight in Killarney
Wednesday, March 7
Dingle Peninsula and the Gallarus Oratory
Thursday, March 8
Cliffs of Moher, walking tour and overnight Galway
Friday, 9 March 9
Athlone, Clonmacnoise, Lough Ree -- overnight Athlone area
Saturday, 10 March 10
Monasterboice and Mellifont Abbeys, Newgrange
Sunday, 11 March 11
Church service in Dublin; free time
Monday, March 12
Return flight to U.S. from Dublin
