Math

Mathematics is the study of numerical possibilities, within the structure of prescribed rules and limits.  Students majoring in math study quantities and formulas at all levels beyond calculus.  Applied Math majors are prepared with technical training for careers from science to finance.

God's design and wisdom in creation is evident in the mathematical arrangement and order of the universe. A person cannot turn a wheel, design a machine, or study his environment without some knowledge of mathematics.

Career prospects

Many mathematics graduates find successful positions in such high tech areas as computer science and electrical engineering. In addition, there is a growing demand today for qualified math teachers. A number of our graduates have gone on to graduate school at such places as the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon and Rochester Polytechnic Institute.
