The New Song group is a music and drama ministry sponsored by Geneva College. Through music and drama the timeless words of the gospel are conveyed in a contemporary and dynamic way. For 31 years New Song has traveled widely across the United States and Canada and has traveled twice to mainland China. Nine students are chosen in January for the group that begins their service in the summer following. Students are chosen because of their musical and dramatic abilities and because of the way they can articulate and convey their faith. A generous stipend is earned by New Song members for their year long commitment.
The members of the 2008 New Song, starting from the left to the right are Sarah Marshall, Jordan Feagley, Lindsay Brothers, Amanda Weathers, Adam Shaffer, Thomas Meyer, Katelyn Wagner, Emma Cowell and Josh Faulk.
Sarah, hailing from Morehead City, NC, is in her third year of college with a music business major. Coming from Huntingdon, PA, Jordan is entering his junior year and majoring in music education. Lindsay, a sophomore, is from Minerva, OH and is studying music education. Senior Amanda will finish her degree in music this spring and calls Pittsburgh, PA home. A sophomore majoring in business, Adam also comes from Pittsburgh, PA. Thomas, from Girard, PA, is in his last year at Geneva as a music education major. From Annville, PA, Katelyn is a communications disorders major in her sophomore year. A voice performance major, Emma is a senior from Duncansville, PA. Coming all the way from Clarinda, IA, Josh is a junior majoring in math education.
