Dr. Byron Curtis mentioned in magazine
Titled Up the Steep and Stony Road: The Book of Zechariah in Social Location Trajectory Analysis, Curtis’ book examines the theory that the book of Zechariah has multiple authors and was written over a span of roughly 200 years. Curtis counters this argument with a new method of interpreting prophetic writing, using comparative sociology and historical linguistics. Up the Steep and Stony Road’s inclusion in The Chronicle’s section of new scholarly books puts it in a class with the hundreds of titles picked from among thousands of submissions. Curtis’ work is the first book-length defense of the single authorship of Zechariah since 1896. |
