Academic Convocation at Geneva College (picture from Sept 2010)

The incoming class of 2015, returning students, faculty and staff will gather together for the annual academic convocation on Friday, September 2 at 10:15 a.m. in Metheny Fieldhouse.

The convocation will welcome new first-year students while recognizing academic achievements among the college faculty. Two awards are given out annually—the Excellence in Teaching Award and the Excellence in Scholarship Award. Recipients are nominated by fellow Geneva College faculty members and students.

During the convocation, winner of last year’s Excellence in Teaching Award, Stephanie Schindel, professor of psychology, will be speaking on “Engaging the Process.”

Last year, the Excellence in Scholarship Award was given to Dr. Jim Dittmar, program director of the Masters in Organizational Leadership.
