Alice in Wonderland auditions

The Geneva College Theatre Department will present Alice in Wonderland during the fall semester. The script by Eva Le Gallienne and Florida Friebus follows the original Lewis Carroll books, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, and What Alice Found There. Auditions for the production will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, September 5 and Tuesday September 6 at the Bagpiper Theatre.

Alice in Wonderland has roles for 10-15 actors and 10-15 movement ensemble members who will also have speaking parts. Students are not required to sign-up for auditions ahead of time, and advanced preparation is welcome, but not necessary. There may be some single, double or even triple casting. Since the setting for the play is a nonsense world, there are no gender requirements the roles. Dance experience is not required, but is considered helpful.

The Geneva College Theatre Department is a group of students, faculty and occasional guests dedicated to bringing fun, quality, Christ-centered entertainment to Geneva College and the surrounding community. Theatre Director Mindy George, who has extensive experience in directing, set design and construction, costuming, and acting, eagerly anticipates the theatre’s 2011-12 season: “I'm excited for this year’s performances and the prospect of new student involvement.”
