ApologetiX concert will support FBLA food drive

Apologetix.jpgChristian parody band ApologetiX will perform in concert at Geneva College on Saturday, April 27 at 7 p.m. in John White Chapel of Old Main. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 dollars at the door.

The concert is being hosted by Geneva’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter to benefit a local food bank. The FBLA asks that concert attendees bring donations of canned goods and other non-perishable food items.

“Come enjoy your favorite contemporary songs with lyrics that glorify Christ, and connect to the surrounding community at the same time with the food drive that we’re holding,” says Wesley Prichard, secretary for Geneva’s FBLA chapter.

apologetix_soup_can.jpgThe band’s most recent album is Hot Potato Soup, which supports the evening’s food drive theme. Tracks on the album include “Lived the Day You Died,” a parody of “Love the Way You Lie” by Eminem, and “Lock,” a parody of “Walk” by the Foo Fighters.

ApologetiX was founded in Pittsburgh in 1992. The band has since released 21 studio albums and played concerts in all 50 states. ApologetiX creates parodies by rewriting secular songs with Christian lyrics and have referred to themselves as a cross between “Weird Al” Yankovic and Billy Graham.
