| Black History Month at Geneva | ||||||||
February is Black History Month, and Geneva College will celebrate with a series of special events coordinated by the Black Student Organization (BSO) and the Office of Multiethnic Student Services. “Multiethnic Student Services and the Black Student Organization seek to provide awareness for their ethnic cultures, and we encourage the community to come and take part!” says director Cindy Cook.
The Multiethnic Student Services office serves the needs of all multiethnic students, which include our African American, Asian Pacific Islanders, Biracial, Hispanic and Native American populations. They seek to transform the lives of students by empowering them to become effective Christian leaders through the offering of programs that are affirming and supportive to the diverse racial and cultural needs of the college. Geneva College is a comprehensive Christian college of the arts, sciences and professional studies. Founded in the tradition of the Reformed Christian faith, Geneva prepares students to serve Christ in all areas of society: work, family and the church. Geneva College’s philosophy of education is based on the Foundational Concepts of Christian Higher Education. Geneva is a founding member of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU). |
