Broadway Revue

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Geneva College students will present selections from popular musicals on Friday, Nov. 7 and Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. in a special performance for the campus community and the public. The Broadway Revue, held in the John H. White Chapel of Geneva’s Old Main building, will include music from modern and traditional Broadway musicals.

Musical theater numbers from the 1940’s to the present will be performed, including selections from South Pacific, My Fair Lady, Hairspray and The Lion King. “Solos, duets, and small groups are scheduled to perform, and a wonderful finale including the entire cast will bring a powerful conclusion to the program,” explains Director of Church and Parent Relations Louise Copeland.  “Students are given the opportunity to shine on the Geneva College stage, singing some of their favorite music. They are sure to bring enjoyment to the hearts of all listeners.”

This unique event is a fundraiser for the Geneva Women, an alumni group that supports student organizations. Purchase tickets in advance from Geneva’s music department, public relations office or institutional advancement. Tickets sold in advance are $6 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets may also be purchased at the door at $7 for adults and $4 for students. For more information call 724-847-6661.

The Broadway Revue is held in conjunction with Geneva’s Family Weekend, an annual tradition that allows families to experience the college. Immediately following the Broadway Revue, students and their families are invited to an ice cream social. Other Family Weekend events include a special Bible class, chapel service, football game and a presentation of Windows: A Story In Lead and Light, a 45-minute analysis of the stained glass windows in McCartney Library.
