(Beaver Falls, PA) Geneva College is proud to host the third annual Beaver Falls Community Crime Watch Day on Saturday, August 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. The event, which is sponsored by Beaver Falls Police Department with support from Geneva College and other local businesses, will offer activities for all ages. The purpose of the day is to educate local families on the resources available to them for their safety.
The afternoon will start off with a service vehicle parade from the Beaver Falls high school to the Geneva campus. There will be a K-9 demonstration, Taser gun education, bicycle safety lessons and more. Fire trucks, ambulances and police cars will be on display for kids to see and sit inside.
A moon bounce and snow cone machine will be available for children, and hamburgers and hotdogs grilled up for purchase. Information booths will be set up with information on different services provided to the residents of Beaver County. There will be a raffle of prizes donated by local businesses and organizations, and all the money raised will be donated to charity.
Beaver Falls Police Chief Charles “Mick” Jones is excited about this event and sees community gathering like this as strength for Beaver County. He says, “A community is only as strong as the people who are in it."
The festivities will take place in Geneva’s parking lot next to the school’s main entrance right off of Route 18. The Beaver Falls Police Department invites residents of Beaver Falls and the surrounding communities to come and enjoy this free event.
Additional support for the Community Crime Watch Day is being provided by: Beaver Valley Golf Club, Bargain Brakes and Muffler, Maria’s Kitchen, MAC Vending, Supportive Services Inc., Mazzant Painting Inc. and Marsico Musement Co.
