Community Crime Watch Day

Beaver Falls Police Department shield

The third annual Beaver Falls Community Crime Watch Day will be held on Saturday, August 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. The event, which is sponsored by Beaver Falls Police Department with support from Geneva College and other local businesses, will offer free activities for all ages. The purpose of the day is to educate local families on the resources available to them for their safety.

The event kicks off with a parade of emergency vehicles starting at the Beaver Area High School on 8th Avenue in Beaver Falls, winding up to the Geneva College campus on College Hill. There will be a K-9 demonstration, Taser gun education, bicycle safety lessons and more. Fire trucks, ambulances, police cars and military vehicles will be on display for kids to see and sit inside.

A moon bounce, snow cone machine and balloon animal artist will be available for children, and hamburgers and hotdogs grilled for purchase. Information booths will be set up with information on different services provided to the residents of Beaver County. There will be a raffle of prizes donated by local businesses and organizations, and all the money raised will be donated to charity.

The festivities will take place in Geneva’s parking lot next to the school’s main entrance right off of Route 18. The Beaver Falls Police Department invites residents of Beaver Falls and the surrounding communities to come and enjoy this free event.

Additional support for the Community Crime Watch Day is being provided by: Beaver Valley Golf Club, Bargain Brakes and Muffler, Maria’s Kitchen, MAC Vending, Supportive Services Inc., Mazzant Painting Inc., Marsico Musement Co., Ambridge Do It Best Home Center, Thomas Childester  Jr., Penn Beverage, Walmart, Giant Eagle and Chewton Auto Repair Service.
