Beaver Falls Community Crime Watch Day is August 3

crime_watch_1.jpgAll local community members are invited to the Geneva College campus for the fifth annual Beaver Falls Community Crime Watch Day on Saturday, August 3. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., this fun, free and educational outdoor festival includes food, music, games, face painting, arts and crafts, and fireworks.

Plus, Iceburgh—the official mascot of the Pittsburgh Penguins—will be at the event from 6–7 p.m.iceburgh.jpg

In addition to these activities, this non-profit event offers guests an inside look at local safety and law enforcement. Those attending have the opportunity to interact with officers from local and state police departments, bomb squad officers, local firemen, city council members, members of the District Attorney's Office and military recruitment officers.

Demonstrations about small fire extinguishing, police taser guns, military vehicles, fire trucks and rescue vehicles will be performed. Representatives from local non-profit organizations will also be in attendance. And tours of Geneva College will be provided throughout that day.

Beaver Falls Community Crime Watch Day concludes with a Zambelli fireworks display.crime_watch_3.jpg

In 2009, the Beaver Falls Police Department began this event in an attempt to better educate and interact with the local community. The support for this event has helped the Community Crime Watch Day grow, including multiple sponsors from the surrounding communities.
