Beaver Falls, PA – It was another successful fall athletic season on College Hill for Geneva College. Competing in its final year of NCAA Division III provisional status, the Golden Tornadoes put together a winning campaign in the fall season. With an overall record of 63-26-5 (.697) in all fall programs, Geneva cemented itself near the top of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) in overall winning percentage for yet another season.

The winning did not go unnoticed by the PAC coaches or by the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) when it came time to hand out post-season honors. A total of 22 student-athletes were honored by either the Presidents’ Athletic Conference or by the NCCAA for outstanding achievements in the athletic arena.

After a record setting season of 26-5 on the volleyball court, four players were recognized by the PAC with coach’s honors. Adriane Blake, Deanna Briody, Brianna Mixter and Rachel Kuegler were all recognized by the PAC coach’s with the equivalent of All-Conference recognition. Blake and Briody were also NCCAA All-Regional selections with Blake headed for a third consecutive All-American award.

Geneva’s men’s soccer team finished the season with a 14-3-2 record and was rewarded for those efforts by the PAC coaches. Kenton Burckhart, Jake McCracken and Matt Weaver were PAC coach’s honor recipients while all three were all first team NCCAA All-Region selections. In addition, Jon Mathoslah and Josh Mann were honorable mention selections to the All-Regional team.

In women’s soccer, the Golden Tornadoes finished the season at 10-8-3 and had  a total of six players recognized with post-season honors. The PAC selected Lauren Londino, Nancy Paul and Risa Tillman as coach’s honor winners. In the NCCAA East Regional balloting, Paul, Becca Shaw, Maura Allen and Elise Mann were selected to the first team. Londino and Tillman were honorable mention selections.

Finally, the Geneva College football team fought back to finish the season at 5-5 with victories in its final two games of the season. The Golden Tornadoes had seven players receive PAC post-season honors from the participating coaches. AJ Delmonico, David Girardi, Chance Kelosky, Gerard Muschette, Corey O’Patchen, Adam Rose and Lee Thieroff each received PAC coach’s honors as an equivalent to All-Conference selections. Because Geneva is still in its final year of provisional status, no student-athletes were eligible for All-Conference honors in the PAC.
