Family Weekend 2011

The families of Geneva College students are invited to attend the annual Family Weekend on October 28 and 29. Families will have the opportunity to sample campus life and attend a variety of planned activities such as the Family Dinner, Chapel Service and the Golden Tornado football team taking on Thiel.

"The Geneva community enjoys welcoming family members for this fun weekend,” says Director of Parent Relations Becky Phillips. “It is great for us to have the opportunity to meet the families of our wonderful students. I encourage everyone to register before the October 8 deadline so they don’t miss it.”

Other scheduled activities include the Broadway Revue, with Geneva students performing a repertoire of Broadway songs on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon in the John White Chapel. Families can also meet with President Ken Smith over hot cider in the Brigadoon, learn about Geneva’s engineering program, attend a presentation on McCartney Library’s Pilgrim’s Progress windows and much more.

In addition, the siblings of Geneva students have the opportunity to stay overnight with their brother or sister on Friday after a showing of Cars 2 in Metheny Fieldhouse.

"Family Weekend is a great way to celebrate fall and spend time together as a family,” says Phillips. “Students love being able to spend the weekend with their families, including having siblings stay with them in the residence halls.”
