Geneva Across America Pittsburgh Reception Dinner

gaa-map-3.jpgMembers of the Geneva College community are invited to greet the Geneva Across America riders to celebrate their successes and send them off on the last leg of their journey. Those who are interested can join the team on Tuesday, July 9 at 7 p.m. for the Geneva Across America Pittsburgh Reception Dinner at Peters Place Restaurant in Bridgeville, PA. The cost is $20 per person.

“We want to hear their stories and learn about their experiences along the way,” says director of Alumni Relations Dan Williams. “At this point, the riders are in the final leg of their journey—so close to home. So I would say the main goal of this evening is encouragement.”

Geneva Across America includes a team of nine riders. The team started in San Francisco, CA, on the morning of Monday, May 20, 2013 and will conclude its journey in Lewes, DE, on July 26. In total, the cyclists will have pedaled 3,708 miles through 13 states. The purpose of Geneva Across America is to promote Geneva across the country while raising funds for a new endowed scholarship for future Geneva students in need of financial assistance.

gaa_logo.pngThe team members include: Geneva alumnus Jim Andrews, Director of the Pisgah Program Becky Case, alumnus Bob Collins, Director of Academic Counseling Center and Educational Support Services Christy Coulter, wife and parent of Geneva alumni Linda Gardner, friend of the college Ed LeNormand, Dean of Student Development Mike Loomis, and alumnae Fiona Smith and Laura Zerbe.
