Geneva Across America

bike_trip_logo_black-gold.pngGeneva Across America is a transcontinental bicycle tour scheduled to take place during the summer of 2013. Riders will travel 3,816 miles from San Francisco, CA to Yorktown, VA from May 18 to July 27, 2013.

This event is sponsored by the Geneva College Office of Student Development for the purpose of raising $25,000 to establish additional scholarships for deserving students.

“There are so many reasons to be excited about this trip,” says Dean of Student Development Dr. Michael Loomis. “Riding across America has been a 20-year dream of mine that was reignited by the interest of two current students, Marty Adams and Fiona Smith, following our first ride to Washington DC. With the support of the college, we hope to not only see America, but to spread the word about Geneva College and raise money for a new endowed scholarship to help future students realize their goal of Christian higher education.”

There are many opportunities to get involved in Geneva Across America. To learn more about joining the riding team or supporting this endeavor in other ways, attend one of the information sessions, click here, or email Dr. Michael Loomis at mjloomis@geneva.edu.
