“Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day” is part of a national movement which aims to empower young women to pursue careers in the field of engineering. On Thursday, February 21, 2013, Geneva College’s Department of Engineering and Computer Science is joining this effort by hosting girls in grades 4 to 12 for dinner and various age-appropriate engineering activities and competitions. A concurrent information session for parents will also be provided.
Activities will be conducted by female engineering students from Geneva College who are currently working to establish a collegiate chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). For more than six decades, SWE has “focused on issues of interest to women specializing in engineering and technical careers.” Click here to register for “Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day.” Check-In for the event begins at 5:15 p.m. in the Benedum Room of Alexander Hall. The event will conclude at 8 p.m. Schedule
