Geneva College names marketing/pr director

 

          BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Cheryl Johnston is the new director of marketing services and public relations at Geneva College, announces Edgardo Vencio, Geneva’s vice president and chief executive for enrollment, development and marketing. Johnston’s role at Geneva will be to direct marketing services, supporting enrollment, management, development and overall marketing communications for the College.

 

          Johnston (formerly Clawson) comes to Geneva with almost 25 years of varied experience in communications.  Among her credits, Johnston has been managing editor of Insulin-FreeTIMES, manager of Diabetes Portal’s interactive e-talk station Diabetes Station, executive editor of Stadlanders LifeTIMES and LIFETIMES2 Magazines, public relations account supervisor at The Carson Group, Inc. and at MARC and Company, and public relations coordinator and office supervisor for the City of Pittsburgh’s Department of Park and Recreation, “Citiparks.” 

 

She graduated from Point Park College in Pittsburgh, PA with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communications. She is a native of Latrobe, PA and resident of Ohio Township, PA with her husband Dave and two children.

 

          Johnston says, “Geneva College is truly special. It has a rich tradition and exciting future as a comprehensive Christian college of the arts, sciences and professional studies.  It provides a strong academic environment inside and outside of the classroom and remains committed to Christian servant-leadership. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to help communicate the benefits of Geneva to others.”
