| Geneva College announces change in administrative structure | ||||
President Kenneth A. Smith and the Geneva College Board of Trustees have announced a change in the administrative structure of the college. These changes will better equip the college leadership to meet the challenges of the downward economy and competitive higher education market.
To accomplish this transition, Smith has appointed a team that can effectively operate the college in his absence. Provost Ken Carson is responsible for convening the leadership team and coordinating ongoing operations of the college. He is supported by three new half-time deans who will help him carry the load in terms of academic programs, academic administration and faculty development. Vice President of Enrollment and Advancement Ed Vencio now oversees advancement, enrollment, public relations and marketing for the college. President Smith will also be involved with advancement on an ongoing basis. Vice President of Finance and Operations Larry Griffith is responsible for all of the non-educational internal operations of the college, with special attention given to finance and accounting. “I am optimistic about this arrangement, and I have great respect for each of these leaders, both as individuals and as team players,” says President Smith. “We are committed to modeling and holding one another accountable to the values of integrity, kindness and joy. Please be in prayer for the team as we move forward.” |
