New Song releases Hallel

Hallel CD from New SongNew Song, the traveling music ministry of Geneva College, is proud to announce its latest recording, Hallel. The title is taken from the Hebrew word meaning “praise.”

To help worshipers continue to learn new arrangements from the recently-released Book of Psalms for Worship, New Song presents this album in a capella four-part harmony. The 18 tracks cover Psalms 113 – 118, traditionally noted as the songs sung by Jesus and his disciples at the Passover meal before his trial and crucifixion. All arrangements are from The Book of Psalms for Worship which Crown & Covenant Publications is promoting as “a psalter for the 21st century.” This new psalter features familiar hymn tunes, traditional folk melodies and new compositions in newly translated versifications.

Both Hallel and The Book of Psalms for Worship are available for purchase through Crown & Covenant’s website at www.crownandcovenant.com.

New Song is a music and drama ministry sponsored by Geneva College. For 31 years New Song has traveled widely across the United States and around the globe. Nine students are chosen annually based on musical and dramatic abilities and on ability to articulate and convey the faith.
