Our Town

Geneva College students helping with Our Town.

Geneva students recently went into the Beaver Falls community to volunteer and get involved with the community through Our Town, a Geneva College Student Union (GCSU) sponsored event.

Our Town is organized each semester by the GCSU with the purpose of giving back to the community. This semester, students volunteered with Tiger Pause, Pine Valley Bible Camp, Habitat for Humanity, Beaver Falls Forever, the Beaver County Christian School, road and neighborhood cleanup, and passed out candy to trick-or-treaters downtown.

VP of Finance for the GCSU Jeff Kirkwood said, “Our Town has continued to be a great event and we once again had a good turnout. We were pleased to see over 60 students join us in cleaning and restoring the community this Saturday and hope this instills the benefits of service on their minds.”

Senior communication major Ji Bae has volunteered with Our Town for the past two years. “Even though Our Town is early in the morning, it’s worth it to go out into the community and give up some of our time. We learn about servant leadership at Geneva so it was a good experience to actually live it out.”
